VEGAS NIGHTS

Hitting the town in Las Vegas.

So this is the bit most people want to hear about.
The Vegas Night life!
So after a shocking day in the 7 Card Stud where it seemed I was card dead for 5 hours I headed back to play PLO at the Wynn.
The game was unreal in fact it was full of super stars.
I managed to lose the first pot with AA double suited to QJT9 ok you might say but he was ready to put his house on it on top of the 1500 he had already put in. I offered him the deal and we could run it 50 times! I did not get a reply.
From the it went down hill, I was involved in the biggest pot of the night where I made a great squeeze play for 2K pre flop but the fish still call with AT43 1 suit knowing the middle guy has AA.
We agreed to run the river 3 times after I saw he got lucky on the turn. I wish I hadn’t now as I hit the river the first time and woulda scooped a pot for over 7K. I managed to get the main pot and 1/3 of the side pot which put me ahead on the hand.
From there I lost to runner, runner with the nut straight and a small extension with the nut flush draw to a player going for his K flush. He managed to hit runner, runner to make a full and I was back in my pocket.
From there I lost another 6K pot to a 2 outer, managed to miss a flush draw in another 3K pot and decided that was it for the night.

I went to my room jumped in the shower and meet a few of the boys downstairs to go out for the night. I know I am not drinking this trip but I decided to take a few days of from poker so a drink should not hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3 bottles of Grey Goose later and some champagne life started to look better, I had forgotten the poker from earlier and could now only focus the rest of my trip and having some fun!

We left the Bank (a club in the Bellagio) and headed back to the Wynn where we played a little craps… Not knowing anything about the game I was happy that I made some money!
I headed off to bed where the room was spinning for a few hours and finally managed to fall asleep.

The next day I chilled by the pool for a while with Roberto and some of his friends from back home.
Peter was very kind and invited me to join them for dinner at the Japanese restaurant where we had the VIP outside table by the waterfall.
This was the best dinner I have had for a while and the night ended in the nightclub at Trist celebrating Ram’s final table in the Omaha hi low.

I took a few days of from Tournament poker and played in the cash games where my game was still perfect but my luck was not. I somehow am unable to win a hand where I am 90% favourite and this is beginning to get on my nerves.
I thought seriously about booking a flight home and missing the 10K PLO and the main event.
I played in a mega satellite and was flying Chip leader by a mile. I was talking my way into all the chips with 12 players left I found Aces pre flop raised 7 x BB and got 2 callers. The flop was AT9 (2 clubs) so I checked The turn was a 2 so I bet out half the pot I got 1 caller who thought I was at it and a 7 hit the river. I bet out again half my chip stack and he re-raised me. I started the speech play and asked if the 7 helped him. Did you have TJ or 77 I said well good luck to you if you do I am all in he called instantly and showed 77 and now I was flying. With 2 10K seats as prizes and 3rd collecting 8K in cash I was set to win.
I lost a few key hands as the blinds increased when this hand occurred.
There was a min raise UTG from a big stack another big stack re-raised I was on the button with J9 hearts and called to see a flop as the players were week and I knew I could win a monster or lose the minimum.
The flop came out perfect QT8. The first player UTG raiser bet out the other man went all in. LOL I thought for a minute looking for an Oscar and called and so did the original better. OK so what could they all have?
Well the first guy had AQ. What did he want with this pot? But that was the standard of play. The other player 66. OMG I was set to have half the chips in play. The turn was a 6 and the river paired the Q. I felt sick and all I could do was laugh……
I went back and a few of us went out to PURE a night club at Caesars palace. We had a table on the roof top section and had a great night.

I have now been in Vegas for nearly 3 weeks and I am beginning to think I should not do this again (a 5 week trip) When Vegas is good its great but when it gets to you there is no where else in the world you would rather be.
I did some meditation and decided that I am a winner and winner do not quit.
I have my cousin for LA coming to see me later so I will enjoy the weekend with him and focus now on the 2 Tournaments I have left.

I will post on Monday with some pictures for you of the weekend and news of my winning from the cash games J
Have fun and enjoy the weekend!

#31 $2,500 6 handed NLH

What can I say about this event?
I had decided after talking in detail to some top pros about the advantages or disadvantages of buying in late to tournaments as you are allowed to buy in to each WSOP event up to 2 hours after the start.
I turned up with 20 minutes to go before the break in level 2 with blinds at 50 / 100.
I sat in a game and the rules here state that you are given a full stack which here was 5,000 chips and you are dealt out until the big blind.
As I was in the big blind our table broke and I was told I needed to wait again for the big blind before I can play my first hand. LOL What rule is this, OK I thought for the first table but we broke tables and I was moved so what is the difference ?
So finally I got to play a hand. There were 2 monster stakes at the table and 2 short stakes at the table.
I managed to get 1800 from 1 player before the break as I called with AT knowing he was going to move all in as he had done so for the last 3 hands. He did and I called he showed Q8 and the flop came Q high, no surprise there but the shock did come when an Ace hit the river to give me the pot.
We finished level 2 and went into the break. I had 6200 which was over 20% more than I started with. The field had lost 20% of players and now we were ready to play poker.
After the break I came back and I was card dead for about 40 minutes and the blinds were eating me up.
It looked as though my BB was the easy steel and I had no play in me as it was all being done by the big stakes before it came to me. On my BB the button raised, the blinds were 150 / 300 he made it 1050 to play. I looked down at AQ so I moved all in. He called instantly and showed AK. No help from the board it was all over for me.

As I moved into he main room at the Rio I put my name on the cash game list. As I sat down I saw there was a mega satellite for the 50K HORSE which I completely forgot about and felt a little sick as I really wanted to play the 50K event and the mega satellite seemed the only way I was going to get in. Maybe it was not meant to be.

The $5 $10 PLO game was unreal. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Unfortunately bad play was rewarded and the fish were getting lucky. I was down $2K and moved to the $10 $20 PLO game. First hand I flop Set with Flush draw and possible straight. All the money goes in and the player asked me how many times I wanted to run the river.
I said can I see you hand then decide or should we guess what we both have?.
I thought he had just a flush draw or higher set as otherwise why would he ask!
I couldn’t be more wrong he had top set and nut flush draw so I replied to his question with shall we run it 14 times. LOL
He laughed and I said twice is ok for me. I am drawing very thin.
I lost the pot and came back tot eh Wynn to relax.
Tomorrow I will play in the $1000 Bellagio which is a good comp with about 100 runners.
Until then be good!

#26 $1,500 RAZZ

Razz is a low game played the same was as 7 card stud 2 down cards per player then 1 open card per player with betting rounds from there until you have 4 up cards and then a 3rd down card dealt last.
The lowest hand wins A2345 is the best hand and A2346 beats 23456.
ROYAL FLUSH IS NO GOOD IN THIS GAME

I started the day well; I was a little aggressive as I like to advertise early on to knew players that I am very loose so later on in the tournament I get them calling me drawing almost dead.
I built my stack up but there was a lot of action in this event with over 440 players it seemed many of them wanted to gamble and just have fun rather than play the game and the maths.
I went from 3K starting chips to 6K then down to 2 K then up to 8K and I was moved table. My new table was crazier than my first one and I lost 3 sick hands in row to complete Muppets. I was left with 1K in chips and managed to accumulate my stack back to a healthy 8K and was now applying pressure. Players were dropping out fast and the blinds and antes were increasing heavily. The day was ending so I took a massage as I played. I used my chips well and played solid to get as many chips as I could because I knew in day 2 you needed chips to play the game as 2 hands or bad beats in this v smaller stacks And you can be out.
I managed to end the day with 21,600 in chips and 12th out of the remaining 104 players.
Feeling confident that I am going to win a bracelet this year and loving Razz I was hoping that this could be the one.
I started day 2 on a tough table with 3 chips stacks the same size of mine including Andy Bloch on my left. Now I know how people feel when they have to sit on my right, lol
A few bad beats and 1 badly played hand I was low in chips, down to 10K. I lost another ill hand with A237 as my first 4 cards v a player with ?? in the hole and KT showing on the table. How he calls me down to the end and hits his cards without me catching is a miracle but he did and I was left with 4K.
I was moved tables and I managed to stay a float for 2 levels, I was then the High card bring in like 6 times/10 which hurt my stack, I did managed to re-raise an idiot for my last thousand on the first bet and he folded which was a nice surprise.
With 65 players left and only 48 in the money I was playing to win as the cash in this field was only ok at the final table.
I found 248 first 3 cards and there were 4 people in the pot before me. I decided the value was ok and stuck it all in. I ended the hand with a full house 10’s over 8’s which was a little sick but that’s the game. I stood up and left the building.
This was a fun tournament and I love to play the game. I will defiantly be playing it again next year I just wish they made a Razz re buy event so there could be a bigger prize pool.
Back in the hotel I went for dinner with Mar “Mr Cool” Goodwin and Roberto Romanello. Dinner was excellent as it is every day in the Wynn, with so many unbelievable restaurants with great food we are spoilt for choice.
After dinner we headed to the Pia Gow table for a little fun.
Pia Gow is a casino game which goes a little like this:
Every player/box is dealt 7 cards including the dealer (The house). With the 7 cards you have to make 1 5 card poker hand and a 2 card poker hand. Your 5 card hand has to be better than your 2 card hand and gets a little tricky when you have 2 pairs depending on your kickers.
If you win both v the dealer you win your bet, and pay 5% tax. If you lose both v the dealer she wins your money and if you win 1 each then you push (tie hand) no one wins and the cards are taken away and a new hand is dealt. You are not obliged to keep the same bet you can leave the table bet smaller or higher.

Mark is a high roller playing 1500 min a box and sometimes 2 boxes.
Roberto asks to set 1 of the boxes and does so. With a smile on his face he tells us that we are not allowed to look. I said I should check as maybe he has set them wrong and Mark also wanted to see but Roberto insisted that he had done everything correct and not to worry. With these words Mark asked “are you sure” to which “yes” was the reply.
The dealer turned over his hand and as he came to Roberto’s box he said that was unlucky….
Roberto had 2 pair and K high and did not play the house (correct) way and split the pairs as they were low ones which would have won but he kept them together and had K high in the top which pushed costing mark $1,500.
We laughed about it for 5 minutes and Roberto says to Mark Ill show you a trick. Put $1,000 there, pointing in from of him. Mark did this with a little banter and Roberto asked the dealer for change. I’ll show you a system he said. You can’t lose!
I’ve hear this before I told him and he was doing ok until I explained to him that with 6 bad hands he is up to the max on the table of 10K trying to win his $100 back and can only lose.
He didn’t believe and was doing ok for a while until he came a little unstuck and lost the lot which was Marks $1000 and his $1500 profit.
We had a good time and a fun night and I am sure wed will have many more this trip.
So I bubbled the Razz and am going to have 2 days off to relax.
Do have a good weekend and I will post again next week.
Be good and if you can’t be good be lucky!

#22 $3000 HORSE

#22 WSOP 2008
$3,000 H.O.R.S.E

This was going to be my first live HORSE event.
I love horse and I play it regularly online for cash and some small tourneys for practise but I really want to play the $50K buy in tournament this year and win it so I thought it would be good to start of smaller and play the $3k.

The field was approx 414 players made up I am guessing of 30% horse fans, 10% people who wanted to try something new judging buy their play and 60% top pros. Problem was I did not know what category I was playing in. LOL

So we started as normal with double buy in chips (6,0000) and with the blinds and antes low there was so much play in this tournament.
You see the good thing with HORSE is that there is no hurry; you need to be patient and have good hand selection as well as know when to make the moves.
Holdem ok fairly easy most people play.
Omaha 8 is Hi low. This is a great game just a shame they make it all limit over here.
Razz 7 card stud low ball A2345 Nuts. Best game for sick gamblers
Stud 7 card Hi only very skilful game shame not played so much anymore.
Eight or better stud 7 card stud Hi low good game but when in a tourney be careful and hand selection is key.

My fist table was like a table from heaven, I think it was made up of the 30% group and they way they were giving their chips away was unbelievable. I suggested to the table that we all resume later for a cash game. No joy there though L

Time went buy and my chips stack was growing, a few good hands a few sick hands, that’s how it goes, especially when you keep changing game.
In Holdem and Omaha 8 there are only 2 blinds (small and big) in the other 3 games there are Antes and bring in bets so you may not get 1 bring in bet all round or you may get them all it depends on your first open card. I was lucky as I would say in day 1 I only had to open less than 10 times which is rare. This save you money and allows you to fold losing only the ante.
I ended the day with only 7,900 chips.

Back in the hotel sitting with friends I told them all that I would bounce back and win this event as I could feel it strongly.

DAY 2

I started with a double up as you can in limit as the blinds were creeping up. Before I knew it I was up there in the top 5 chip leaders. Then getting involved in a few pots of RAZZ with 4 cards lower than a 6 in the fist 4 and bricking the next 3 I was down again. It was like that a lot on day 2 especially near the end.
I was up to 160,000 and lost a 60K pot to take me nearly double chip leader.
We were on the bubble and I was steeling everything as a few short stacks were at my table.
I had the tight image so they did not expect me to come out firing on bubble time. I had respect for my bets from the table and picked up some extra chips during this 20 min.
Final 40.
I was in good shape but now the field was made up of 95% top pros 5% player who likes Horse and me.

It was a long time to get from 5 tables to 1 so they decided we would play down to 16 and stop for the night.

We switched from Razz to Stud and I was dealt 2 & 5 as my whole cards with an A up.
I raised as you do in stud especially as I only had 1 player behind me with a King. He re-raised so I called. My next up card was a K and he hit a 5. I checke3d he bet so I called. My next card was another K and he hit a 9. He looked at me as I was about to check fold and said “ your so lucky”. I suddenly realised we were not playing Razz anymore and now understood my he raised me to start.
There I was thinking I would trap him with my A25 and we were on stud.
I bet and he showed me his K in the whole and folded.
I could not now resist to explain to him how unlucky he was as I thought it was still Razz and showed him my whole cards.
He did not see the funny side but still I chuckled.
It was late I was getting tired and having a tight image helped me win this pot.
I was happy as it was past 04:00 and I was beginning to feel tired as this game takes a lot more concentration that any other.
DAY 3
I started the day with 79,000. I thought it was good from 7,900 and the same numbers as the day before just an extra 0. t
16 left and in the $$$$$$$$$ well only $10K so far but still better than nothing.
The fist hand I picked up UTG was KJ diamonds. I know I should have played this but I didn’t. I would have picked up the blinds as everyone folded and the BB showed 82. Next hand in my BB JJ decided to raise, Hoyt re-raised and I looked down at 66. I so wanted to play JJ heads up there as I knew I had him and he was the short stack. The money all went in pre flop and JJ showed 33 while I predicted out loud Hoyt’s cards JJ. The flop was 992 J 9 and we were down to 15, they were dropping like flies and within only 2 hours we were down to 9.
PLO I raised UTG with A258 ds. The flop was AQ8 with 2 diamond. I had 2 pair, flush draw and the low draw though not strong in either.
I bet he called. The turn was 9spades I checked he bet. I called the river was 5.
This was a problem as now I only had 3 pair and no low. He bet 20K and I only had 25K left. I had to call as the was a pot of over 150K in the middle. He turned over TJQ3 to scoop with a straight but his hand was dead to a 5 outer. I had the high covered and the redraw, and the low draw for half. This happens in poker it is just sick in a pot so close to the final 8 and a WSOP bracelet.

I played very well and I know that I finished a respectable 9th in this field. It was buy far the toughest field of the tourney so far and look forward to the challenge of playing it again next year.
I finally went out to Jennifer Harmen next hand was I was not even able to make up the BB.
I left gracefully for a change, and collected my $25,000 as I bought into the $1500 RAZZ event.
This was going to be fun and quick I was sure so I needed to start building chips. I have been building chips stacks to show you but can not get the pictures from my phone onto the PC. A few poker sites have them shown in their updates as many people are taking pictures of them.
I was down to 1,000 after moving table with 6,000 but got my way back up without having to go all in.
I ended day 1 with double average 21,000 and will go back later to win it.
I will post about the RAZZ tomorrow.
Be lucky!

#19 $1500 POT LIMIT OMAHA

#19
POT LIMIT OMAHA
$1,500

With a solid night in at the cash table I was ready for this event. The only thing I knew was that I need to win the first few pots I play so I could get some chips and not make this a crap shoot event.
With only 3,000 in chips and the blinds at 25/50 each chip was vital.
I played a pot and won it on the turn with a bet, I then lost a small pot after folding to a bet on the river.
Then I raised a pot that a limper UTG was in and got 3 callers. The limper then re-raised pot which set him all in less that 1500. I now know he has AA so I re-raised all in to get the hand heads up. (wishfull thinking). I got both callers and the hands were unreal as they were turned over. OK the player all in for the main pot AAKJd/s. The others well A224(1 suit) and the guy who was still let with 75 chips. KQ98(no suits.
The main pot was like 6,000, The first side pot was 4,500, and the other side pot I was in was 2,800. The flop 6d 9d Td
My hand by the way was 789T(1 suit) but I knew I was against Aces so suit did not matter I just wanted to be heads up.
Looking in good shape on the flop as there was not 1 player with diamonds. Nut straight and top 2 pair. The turn gave the worst hand immediate service with a 3 outer Jack and a brick on the river and it was game over for me.
Back to the STT room to start winning some more tournament chips.

#11 $1500 NLH SHOOTOUT

Table 4 seat 9 in the orange zone.

A shoot out tournament is I think the easiest way to win a bracelet; It is not easy by any stretch of the imagination but is the easiest way.
The format is simple. The field is caped at 1000 players 100 tables of 10 players. You play your table like a STT and the winner from each table proceeds to the next round. There you have 100 players on 10 tables and the same format. From there you have the final 10 players and play down to the winner.
It is a triple shootout, 3 STT and you are a winner.

As I take my seat there is not 1 player at the table I recognize and feel like this will be a week table and won I will be able to win or get heads up to fairly easily.

There was still an empty seat so time would tell who was showing up for that, maybe Mr Phil Hellmuth himself, lol I hope so.

The game starts and the players start early to show their weaknesses and the chips are flying around.
I picked up JJ on my first hand no callers and AA on my second hand also with no callers but that was ok I knew with the good structure I was in with a real chance.

The seat filled up and it was no other that Eric Lindgren, I have a little history with him which I know he will remember as I busted his ass badly 3 years ago in the main event. I thought I would wait till we were in to the 3rd level and he was low in chops before I bought the subject up so he could remember and tilt his chips away, hopefully to me. He did remember of course and was soon calling a re-raise to his raise with JT walking into AA and railing from there.
Each player start with 3,000 in chips and the blinds started at 25/50 with a 1 hour clock, loads of time to play but not so many chips that you could play to many pots and survive.
With in this level I managed a double up which was the start I was looking for. I was in the BB and there were 5 limpers, I looked down to see 78 off suit.
The flop was 2 9 T with 2 diamonds, 1 player check and the other bet 300 into the pot of 300. 1 player called so I decided to call. The turn was a semi perfect 6 hearts, The same player now bet out 800, the other player folded and I thought for a second. I was thinking before the card came that I would bet big if I hit as the table was so weal they were paying everything to players with crap. I decided to raise to 2500 leaving him with only 400 more if was to call knowing he would go all in. He did think for at least 10 seconds (lol) before calling and re-raising me all in with QT diamonds. The river was a blank and I was in good shape.
I ended level 1 with 6550.
Level 2 was slow for me I was not really involved in a hand trying to build my reputation for later on in the game.
Eric though went low stack and all the dumb ass players decide to double and treble him up with crap. I ended level 2 with 6375
Level 3. There was 1 young aggressive player at the table I was eyeing up his chips as he only had about 3500 left and I knew I could get them. He was making moves all the time I just needed a hand. I was building chips in a few small pots when I found 44 on my button and his BB, I raised from the blinds of 50/100 and 2 callers to 600, he then moved all in for 3299 and I decided to call thinking he was making a move but still knowing I had to race, I had enough chips and this would let the table know I would not be bullied and was not afraid to make 50/50 calls to win this table. He turned over A2 and I was so happy to see I was not even racing. The flop bought him no help as did the turn and river and he was gone.
They were dropping like flies and we were only on level 3? As they say in America Go Figure!
I won a few other small pots with JJ and AK. I then played a pot knowing my reputation was good/solid and I had chips with A4. I limed UTG and the BB who just lost a huge race had about 2K left. He raised it to 700. Now normally alarm bells would be going off in my head why only 700 from his 2K he must have a monster but these players anything was possible. I said if you have AA KK then you deserve it. I moved all in and he called with QQ.OK not to bad I had 3 live outs and with the board looking like K39 2 after the turn I was now on a straight draw too. The river bought me my A and it was looking like it was going to be my day. I ended the level with 14600.
Wow level 4 started 150/300 25 ante: I had half the chips in play we were four handed so down to 3 handed I was in shock at the speed of our game but also happy as we would be able to play the final stages with low blinds and not turn the table into a crap shoot.
3 handed I think apart from Eric who didn’t seem to focused on this event we were the 3 best players on the table
Myself, Michael Binger who I then found out finished 3rd in the WSOP main event in 2005 the year Moneymaker won and picked up over 4 million. Rory Monahan who was a young American who played very well.
The chips were split 50% to me and 25% to each of them.
The banter was good and I knew I could do it.
The button Michael, was raising all the time but showing OK hands.
I folded 1 of them in my BB with T6 after the SB flat called I would have flopped a straight and taken Michael out with his JJ but I didn’t and the game went on.
The next raise he made from the button Michael again flat called so I called the 500 into the pot of 1800 with Q8 clubs.
The flop was Qh Js 8h. Michael checked, so I checked behind him waiting for4 the button who did not disappoint. He bet 2K from his remaining 6500. Rory now moved all in for his 7000 and I was put to the test. I thought that Michael had a hand and would call and if not and I won this pot I would be heads up with 25K v his 5K. I put Rory on AK, AJ or KJ hearts. He had between 11 – 14 outs but this was a good chance to win it here and now what should I do. Could he have QJ, I didn’t think so. I called and Michael said he could not pass. It was all in for those 2 and they turned over Michael Q8, Rory Ah,Jh.
Was a little sick he had Q8 but was ok. The turn bought the 9h and a brick on the river and I was damaged but still there heads up with 7.5K.
I ended level 4 with 3400 and needed the break.
Level 5 was 200/400 50 ante. We played heads up for nearly 2 hours as he was not happy to double me up. I managed a double up after the break and was on my way up to 10K when I lost a key pot. It was good not to be playing all in crap shoot poker and small pot poker suited us both and allowed me to pick up blinds. The key pot cost me half my stack and maybe it was the first mistake I made all day. I flopped 2nd pair turned a flush draw and he hit an A on the river. I was lucky not to lose it all but I think I could have won the pot on the turn.
I was down to 5K and now we were moving all in most hands in turn. I went down to 4K and he moved all in I found AT and called he had AJ. The flop was AJT Q 2 and it was over. So close but yet so far. My opponent was a good player and nice guy. I wished him well and saw him play round 2 where he also made it through. I will go and see who he does in the final today as I think he will win.

That’s it for the shoot out!
Tomorrow is the $1,500 PLO that will be a fun crapshoot but still worth playing.

VEGAS BABY

My Trip to Vegas and first day/night.

Wednesday 5th June 21:45 Malaga to London Gatwick. Unfortunately this was the down side to a long trip across the pond as the flight leaves Gatwick at 10:30 Thursday and no flight gets in to London in time for a morning flight.
It was a weird flight for me as about 45 minutes into the journey I woke up not feeling good and unsure if I was going to be sick or pass out.
I started to sweat and my eyes and head were going.
With no energy to even call for help I was lucky the gut next to me saw this and called for a hostess.
They bought me water cleared the 2 people next to me, lay me down and called for oxygen….
As I came round and looked up I saw 2 hostess standing there fanning me with my legs in the air. I thought to myself I could get used to this.
After 5 minutes they took the oxygen off and I was allowed to lay down the rest of the way…. Not a good time to get ill I was thinking especially as I did not know what it could be.
23:45 landed in London with 10 hours to spare I decided to rent a car and go see my brother. A 150 mile round trip on the M25 was easy as there was no one on the road and was good to see him before I set off to make my millions.
Back at Gatwick by 04:00 and I sat in the lounge for a few hours for breakfast, checked in and ready for VEGAS.
10:00 boarded the plane with a window seat which was perfect as I leaned onto the side and fell asleep for 9 hours.
Touchdown in Vegas checked into the hotel showered changed and straight to the poker room it was.
Over the series each card room are running there own events with tournaments daily from $100 to $1000 so there is plenty of action.

The Wynn where I am staying is offering player who put in 50 hours this month a $100,000 free roll where the top 10 get a seat into the main event. Not bad so I put in my 6 hours last night to get me on the way.
With a strict agenda this trip I have set myself I am in the mood for winning and winning big.
I have decided to not drink for 5 weeks, eat healthy and work out every or every other day to keep my mind at its best.
This is going to be a hard task especially in Vegas but with my eye on the prize I know I will have enough time to drink and party after the poker has finished.
Last night was easy, I was in the 2 – 5 game which had 6 rocks in and after losing a pot which I could have escaped I was down 300. I managed to get it back and win $1000 for the 6 hours I put in and decided to get an early night 23:00 (unheard of for me in Vegas) so I could be fresh for the tourney tomorrow.
I have 5 weeks so I knew there was no need to stay up all night.

So the hand I lost! Not that anyone wants to hear about it lol
The rock UTG raised to 20 I called in the big blind with KJs. The flop was J92 no suits, I checked and he bet out 50. I flat called as I new I could be walking into a monster. The turn was Q I checked again to see where I was and he checked behind. I thought or hoped he had KK or AA and got his information and was ready to check it down or call any bet I made. The river was paired the Jack and now I bet out 125 from my stack of 250. He moved all in and of course I have to pay him but he could only have QQ if I thought a little longer.
He did have QQ and I was calling for chips.
I made some great plays yesterday and got paid at the right times and won the pots with bets at the right time too.
Walking across the floor in the casino and looking out my window over the strip I feel at home and alive.
Vegas can be gruelling if you are out of control and not doing well ,but for me it is the best place on earth.
I am playing a tournament tomorrow and more cash and will let you know how I get on, that’s it for today….
Remember don’t hate the player…….hate the game.
